So a lot has been going on in my life lately. But our miracle came yesterday and we are officially moved out of our apartment and in with some wonderful friends. We are so thankful for the Lord's provision of a way out.
I was talking to a different friend a couple nights ago, filling her in on everything that was going and she said something that really resonated with me. I had sent her a picture of my son and husband looking at the lights on our Christmas tree and she responded with:
"So sweet. Kind of fitting that all these things are happening at Christmastime, you know? When Jesus came to give a promise of hope for a weary world."
I sat there and pondered that for a while. Yes, it is fitting. Not only fitting, but a beautiful reminder!
We live in a sin-riddled world. It's weary. And so are we. At least I am. But Jesus came to bring hope and life and rest! So although I am weary, I can rejoice! I can rejoice because Jesus came. I can rejoice because Jesus lived the perfect life I can't. I can rejoice because He died for me. I can rejoice because He didn't stay dead but He rose again on the third day! I can rejoice because He fulfilled every promise. I have a living hope I can take to the bank.
I have hope. A thrill of hope. And I am rejoicing!!
O holy night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
